That's in your world taiga; everything is scaled down tremendously! Perhaps the marks on your sig signify your scaled down marks. I guess we have to add 26 marks to get an approximation of your estimated raw scores. :P

I doubt I'll get below 40 for further, not doing many trial exams doesn't mean I'm going to fail.

Yes it does...

Before I was implying that
 ..

Oh, and I am joking..

VCE is all about luck! I did twice as many chemistry mid-year exams as physics yet my physics mark was better.

Number of practice exams you do seriously means shit all, especially for maths i'm afraid.

rock up on the day and make a few careless mistakes here and there, and it will unfortunately affect your mark.

likewise, get lucky, no stupid mistakes or questions, and you can get an awesome score...

planning on a solid 53 raw in methods :P

You should swap Spec to be 53 scaled, hopefully then the scaling will increase for us ^_^ (lol I can hope, can't I?) ... (Pissed off that 45 in 2007 is equivalent to a 50 last year ... xD)

To make this very simple, practise exams are one of THE MOST subjective things to compare between students.
Some students have an undeniable knack for certain subjects, and don't need anywhere near as much time spent on practise as others may. On the other hand, people who haven't worked over the year... Or people who struggle in subjects may need to commit themselves to countless exams just to boost their ability in preparation. If you've done FORTY exams then I can safely say you have clearly commited yourself well to this subject... Much more and I can't see your marks really changing. If you are happy then that's all that matters. If not then keep going. I know I'll probably get booed here for this but I do Methods and Further together, and because of that, I have chosen the modules of further that allow me to directly cross-study - therefore in studying for Methods I sort of end up studying for further. I've done like 3 Further practise exams... But I'll do about 5 this weekend just to refresh myself. Goodluck to everyone for Monday! Don't fret, it's just a chance to prove how much you know - which if you've worked hard, or know it backwards, should be fine! :D

A kid at my school only did the VCAA 07 - 08 exam 1 and exam 2 papers as study and he got a 47...

Prac exams help you to see the style of questions and see the questions they may re examine....

pretty sure that 40 is a bit excessive
o_o
for further really no more than 20 is needed, dont even think 10 is needed.
first make sure you know how to do everything, then just do a few exams to minimise mistakes, thats all further is, and really carefully go over them.
my first exam was losing like 10 marks overall, and a few exams later losing only 2 because i very carefully realised why i made those mistakes (though first was heffernan, and last was vcaa 09)

do the same and you'll be able ensure you dont make mistakes, and not waste time repeating papers just to feel like you are doing something..

I would compare practice exams for maths with twirling a lightsaber around. Care is paramount. =P

SS = ([(Number of Practice exams completed/average number of errors)*(Cohort-SAC Ranking)]^luck)/Difficulty of exam
