Bit late coming into this topic, but I know how you feel, OP. I came down with Legionnaire's disease three weeks before my VCE exams in 2008, although I didn't realise just how potentially lethal it was until several months on when I learned more about it. I couldn't study, watch TV or browse the web as that made me feel incredibly dizzy. I couldn't even get out of bed for two weeks to see a doctor; that's how bad it was. All I could do was sleep, and that's pretty much what I did for 20-22 hours every day until I eventually got over it. The last week before exams I still felt extremely nauseous and very weird all over, but I still had to tough it out and study.
Had I not come down with that horrific illness, I'd probably be at Melbourne now instead of Monash (since I only
just missed the clearly-in for my first preference), which brings me to the point I want to make. If something isn't right, see a doctor ASAP. That's the one thing I regret not doing. Even though I'm happy at Monash, these are the kinds of things that can easily ruin your chances of getting into a certain course or gaining admission to a certain uni. The sooner you sort these problems out, the better.
