You have to double the distance as the person is going and returning.

So with one marker, the distance travelled is 40m. With 2 markers it is 43m, with 3 it is 46m.
Obviously, there is a arithmetic sequence being followed, with a=40 and d=3.
For 30 markers, the total distance will be calculated via Sum of the first 30 terms.
S(30) = 15 x (80 + 29 x 3)
         = 2505m

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Not confident.
