I doubt it but I put C too. How could it be B?

I'm guessing if they find it to be too ambiguous they will reward B and C a mark, otherwise everyone gets a mark

^ nahh it can't be C because they didn't ask to estimate, they asked to calculate the value using the 68-95-97 rule, they wanted more accuracy using the information in the histogram to get about ~2

Yea my thought process was the same thats why I chose B, and logically the remaining 0.3% (100-99.7%) will be missing if Sx was 3

No way they will take C.  They explicitly told you what method to use in the stem.

Hence the range/4 answer is wrong.  It is only an estimate anyway, and a bad one at that...

True they stated the method therefore only one method is accepted being the bell curve rule

Whoever came up with that rule, I dunno, it is just dumb.

Really should be range/6 as 3 s.d.'s either side of the mean has almost all of the data...

Range/8 would even be a better rule as it consists of 100% of the data as opposed to 99.7%

I put C, and I'm not sure about it. If it's true that it's B then I got 34/40. FML.
