Each mark for exam 1 is worth 0.83 out of the possible 33 (after moderation) and each mark for exam 2 is worth 0.56 out of the possible 33 !!  :o

that just depresses me more

So according to what you're saying _avo, with A+ sacs, high A/low A+ exam1 and full marks exam 2 you could still get 40+ because of the calculation. So you don't need A+ for all 3 to get 40+?

Well it only really matters if you're fighting for the top 2% (45+) basically, as maybe a 40/40 and 59/60 is better than a 39/40 and 60/60 (I'm not 100% guaranteeing this, but it's what I think) and you might just miss out on a 50 (still just my opinion)

So according to what you're saying _avo, with A+ sacs, high A/low A+ exam1 and full marks exam 2 you could still get 40+ because of the calculation. So you don't need A+ for all 3 to get 40+?
Not necessarily the calculation (imo this really just applies for 45+), but if you want 40+ you will need good SAC marks, and overall no more than 10-11 marks lost together in both exams

You don't need all A+s to get 40. I know someone who got an A on exam 1 last year and got 41, must have been highest possible A.

Btw avO if you only lost one mark shouldn't you change you further goal to 45+ :)

If I dropped four (all stupid/not reading) marks on Exam 1, have an =4th/101 ranking at a school that gets pushed up and a 100% score, what does that equate to?

47+, hmm it may if there were only a certain number to be awarded 47's and most of them lost marks in exam 2 and not exam 1 (however the same amount of marks were lost) and they had to toss up between you and someone who lose 2 marks in exam 2 and 1 in exam 1
