How about 37/40 and 72/80 and an A+ sac average?
Last year these marks would have given me about 40 but since this years exam was quite a bit harder I'm hoping they will give me around a 42-43.

How do you know last year you would've gotten 40?
I know theres this statistical report they release, and if you got your info from that; could you please link me too? :)

Anyone guess as to what an A, A+ and B+ would give me?

you can drop up to 3-4 for a 50 over both exams I think.
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.

So it's as tight as Further?

I thought that in the past you could afford to drop 3 marks across both exams for a 50 . . . .

I don't know exactly
but last year the A+ cutoff (i.e. 39 raw) allowed you to lose 12.5 marks
if i've lost 11 im assuming it would have beena round 40 last year which I'm hoping will be 42-43 this year

I doubt that...despite what ppl say about Spesh being hard, it's only just slightly less strict than Methods.

5 marks lost is already a 47 so... =/

Let's hope so! I think I lost the same as you over both exams, but with a different split and my aim has been 43 raw.

But 3 marks, a+ Sacs, and #1 ranking in a strong cohort? Can that still scrape a 50 this year?

Ok to be honest, I have no idea =/

Personally I'm not really that optimistic about my own chances (I'm in similar position to you, except for #1 ranking lol) since I was too optimistic for Methods last year =/

I think you(I'm presuming it's you) still have a fighting chance at 50. I think the state didn't handle the exams as well this year as in previous years.

Mate I know how you feel. Last year it was a bittersweet 48 for me too :)
But Spec generally allows more leeway for lost marks than methods no?
