Uni Maths in Year 12?

Some people I know have been saying that it is possible to do uni maths whilst in year 12. Having done that and passing the subject it adds 4 marks to your enter score? I'm not sure what is true. Anyone can possibly gimme a link to an opportunity like this? As I believe it can greatly benefit me.
2011:
Aims-
English 35, Further 45+, Methods 35, Physics 32, Turkish 33, Legal 28.

You can, I'm doing it this year, you have to hurry though if you're in Year 11, applications close Friday 19 November for UoM, 10th December for Monash

Also, it adds 4 points to your Study Score aggregate, not your ENTER/ATAR (if you pass)
Or 5.5 if you're in the top 20 % of students studying it, or 5 if you're in the next 20% of students studying it.

Details for UoM here: http://www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/school/aust/umep/subjects10
or Monash here: http://www.monash.edu.au/study/enhancement/mathematics.html

UoM are avaliable at more of a widespread of schools - just find one near you

Links above

Also, I found the workload much less than a VCE subject. As long as you can understand what is going on and do questions then you should be okay. The exams are not like VCE ones that try and trick you. Generally, the exams are very similar from year to year with a change in numbers. Our teacher even told us that 10 years or so ago they used the exact same exam as the prior year lol

oh bullshit i DARE you to tell me you won't get 5.5. Plus with the lectures we've got after chem we should all be fine.

Really it's not THAT hard if you do consistent work (having said that i have not TOUCHED uni maths since our last lecture. I really encourage you to do it. It's mostly interesting....

Yeah i don't think you can do it from home and the course (or at least it would be for me) would be pretty hard to get though it individually....

I would fail Uni Maths if I did it from home lol. The concepts are really weird, they all give me headaches to understand the first time round. And since we can't use calculators in the exam, and there's 39532952x more algebra involved than in Spesh, careless arithmetic mistakes destroy you with much greater ease and impact.

And haha tram I haven't been doing consistent work either. Like, I don't know any of the content past like 2nd week of 3rd term? It's really hard to keep up with her =/

MUEP maths is arguably easier than Spesh because of the style of assessment, though the scope of the course is quite wide: including some vectors; linear algebra(matrices); sequences and series; heaps of calculus and some stuff which I can't recall atm.

I hear that UMEP maths is much harder though.

same with umep. If you understand the basic concepts you can pretty much get thu the exam. Whereas you really need to know the spech cource back to front to do the in-depth analysis problem in the exam (and still get raped :( )

Does it actually help with Spec/Methods? I'm interested if you take MUEP/UMEP maths primarily for the 5.5 increment or for an excuse for more maths (like like like).
