For the decay one I put the STM one because of pg348 in Grivas/Carter.

I put elaborative rehearsal for Dereck (or whatever) because it says "because he didn't use..." and you can't "use" consolidation :S

i Picked B because Decay theory states memory traces that arent visited will be faded.... procedural memory is well praticed and learned and least likely to be lost...

i thought forgetting in STM was due to interference and displacement

consolidation was B, there was a disruption because he was watching jack?
true you might be right. But if he used elaborative rehearsal the info would have been encoded and stored better as well

consolidation i dont think is correct because the question said:"jack couldnt remember because he failed to use"
consolidation is not a voluntary process, he cant choose to consolidate information it just happens, thats why i chose elaborative rehearsal... but i was weighing up between the two of this as well.

HEY! You're right! It does say STM info is lost from decay. Let's pray roger edwards sees this and thinks its not fair so he awards both B and D haha. I'm so tempted to email him and say "pg 348 of the grivas text for Q6 MC VCAA 2010 . Please show us mercy roger!" haha. I might...

The question was referring to encoding. Encoding is completed through elaborative rehearsal. Hence it can't be consolidation. Sorry to those who chose it, I know how annoying it is to get a MC wrong :(

Oi bec, do your answers match the ones I posted above? If so, then I'm pretty sure you got 44/44.

I don't have the paper so i'm not able to mark it! Ha,
Are your answers from your teacher or you? How do you know they're all right?
