can you still get one mark for stating b as -2/9  (using variance and not std.)

I did this. how many marks?

If you just purely stated the answer, you would only get 1 mark.

i showed working out as in pr( X > 7 ) = Pr (Z > 7-5 /9 )
                                                    =Pr (Z > 2/9)
                                                     = Pr ( Z < -2/9)
                            therefore b = -2/9

except i used variance, so i still get 1 method mark?

Oh wait a sec, the answer was -2/3 wasn't it? You would probably get one mark for the method (even though you used variance) but lose the answer mark.

doubt that would get 2 marks, maybe 1 method mark as uve used the incorrect value from the beginning :/
