What do you guys think the marking scheme would be like for the last question?

I screwed up the first part, does that mean i get the rest of it wrong, or would there be consequential as in Further Maths.

Had a look at the answers, predicting i got around a 33-35/40 depending on how they mark it - is it still possible to get say, 40 raw? What sort of scores would I need on Exam 2?

Cheers

A, A+ A got me 38 last year. :)
And this year's Exam 1 was much, much harder than last years.
I'm sure exam 2 will be too, so judging by that A, A+ A should get you 39-40 for sure. :)

for question 8 I wrote p=1/2 but I also wrote a bracket (0<or equal to p<or equal to 1), is that wrong, will they mark  me down for that?

Yes that's definetely wrong. did you mean 0 < Pr(X=x) < 1?

I have a slight feeling that I left off the "sq units" for the Q9 with the shaded area (although it's likely that I'm being paranoid). I'm usually so careful with that stuff, however, will I lose a mark for that?

Most likely no.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

Did you write that to show you eliminated the negative answer? If so that's fine.
