Yeh pretty sure theyve screwed up, i think north pole will be q

I've got a little trick for this, but its not really mentioned in any book;

When you have a solenoid like this, take your right hand and point your fingers in the direction of the current flow across the little loops.

Your thumb now points at the north pole.

Hence their answer is wrong :)
