Psychology, if you're missing one key word you don't get the mark.

Serious? Wow, that's harsh.

Yeah, my parents were talking to some parents at school who have kids with similar interests to me and had similar grades in Year 10, and none of them did Psych because it's too vague? Like the 'Literature of sciences'... kind of? Probably a very farfetched metaphor though :P

That said neither of them did GMA/Spesh either although they probably were just as good as maths as I am now.
Haha yep. With the definition of an illusion if you don't have the word "consistent" you get zero, same with EMG, EOG, and EEG all need the word "electrical", method of loci needs the word "visualise". They're just a few of the top of my head. They're THAT picky with it. It's quite shocking really how pedantic psych assessors really are.

hmmm it is vague to a certain extent, but nothing major like literature haha. It's sometimes annoying because it's not like maths where it's really black and white, like right or wrong. MC can be pretty tricky because some answers are more "correct" than others, so 2 of the options could be right but one is more right. That's probably where they're coming from with the "vague" comment I reckon..

Ahh I see. Yeah, that would probably drive me insane if I explained it in my own words but missed out a key term.

Thanks for that though :)

Still getting driven crazy with all the options... my friends suggested doing another Science (biology) seeing as I'm considering Medicine for Uni. Psych does sound interesting, but I've never particularly liked subjects where there are answers... then there are answers which are more correct than others, I suppose.

Thank you all for the help!

^ agree to what they said, in my psych exam last year, i did a perfect 'method of loci' 3-mark response (according to my teacher), all word-for-word like the book, but since i didn't state "visual association" rather said "mental association" i lost 3 marks even though i explained linking it to mental images... that's pretty ridiculous! hah

Everybody should do biology, but the VCAA can be quite pedantic with biology assessment and accepted answers.

Thanks for that link, iNerd :)

Going from the general consensus from that thread, looks like both Pscyh and Bio can be picked up as a 3/4 with some work.

So, just emailed the person who does the subject choices what I did was pick French, but if I decide I don't want to do it as a 3/4 I'll swap over to either Psych or Bio (seeing as they can be done as just a 3/4 as opposed to French). Probably would pick Bio if that is to be the case though, judging by how pedantic the assessors seem to be for Psych!

Thanks everyone for the help! :D
