I realy liked that exam...
But the thing is its not like VCD exams arn't predictable... although the marking keeps on changing which I think is strange.
Because the isomeric and most of the actual design questions are out of 12/ 15 even if you do it in 5 mins realy roughly (like me) you will still get marks if you  comply to the criteria...

only just managed to finish on time, the isometric car was difficult most people in at my school didn't complete it but i managed to, i think the wheels was a suprise as the old exam dont require such detail! an extra 15 minutes would have definately been amazing! the band and cd cover were quite rushed!

I feel like what I produced was like, year 7/8 level  :-\
that damn iso took ages, then I ended up rushing for the band q's

I've been saying all year that the exam should be 2 hours, today just proved my point!

Hopefully i can still get à 50 considering that i havnt dropped à Mark for my Sacs  and Folios.

That BLOOOODY Car of Death lead to my demise. Last year, we had to Sketch orthogonal of à wooden Block.... This Year à F****Kn Car!!!!!

To be honest, any paper involving that much prac needs at least 2 hours. The shading of the car and isometric were most time consuming, then to create a decent looking CD cover and logo, what do they expect from us in 1 and a half hours?

I did the IT exam today, which had 1 drawing aspect and it was 2 hours long. With 20MC and 11 short answer. I finished with 30mins to spare.

C'mon VCAA where's your head at?

I thought the exact same thing. Didn't have enough time to just finish off the last wheel on the technical drawing, then spent 50 minutes drawing on my IT exam and being generally bored two hours later. Ugh someone needs to address that. Knowing the VCAA though...

Hmm, the iso was only worth 12 marks, not a lot. It was worth the as the Orthogonal

WIth the orthogonal, did u guys remember to complete te third angle projection symbol? draw in the hidden lines and the centre lines?

With the Q2 rendering, the resource book had the exact image of the car, so all we had to do was an observational drawing really. The isometric is pretty straightforwar, it only 12 marks while traditional VCAA instrumentals are usually 20-25 marks. Hence wonky circles will probably be the main area of mark lossess for the Iso, but everything else there was fine.

Design analysis was also somewhat unusually tricky, when u had to chose a specialist designer, u had to be careful not to choose a 'graphic designer' an 'illustrator' or a 'phoographer' becuase those were already in the team, and the question asked what specialsity designers would the "design team" consult with. They can't consult with their own type of designer really.

The first question was easy and tricky, u DID NOT NEED the images at all, all u had to do was correlate the stem of the question with teh answers. In each example there was only ONE media, meterial, method etc, so if the question asked for a media, methods, material etc, the image was inconseuqntial, just choose the only MC that was a medai/material/method etc.

The first analysis question asked for the analysis of a Media, a bit unusual. I said wet markers to experiment with form, tone and surface texture of the reflecive products or something of that nature. U wouldve needed to name a media and not confuse it with the traditional method question.

Overall, teh wheels on the car will be worth less than one mark. The angle, proportions, drawing system (isometric), will be worth about 8/12, and 4 will be allocated for the wheels, the curve body and a couple of other key details.

I'm fairly certain we were supposed to choose a specialist from the design team..
I chose graphic designer, so I hope that's what we had to do!
