Just updating that with the launch of ATARNotes and my research project in Israel, I have delayed starting on the book. When I get back I'm going part time at uni to both get this book done and help promote AN, so ETA on this book is June, 2011.

Won't know price until I try to get it printed and see how much that costs and then work out a fair markup etc.

If you're going to devote so much time to this, make it a passion rather than for money.  Let money be a side benefit.

If you want to make money, there are heaps more efficient ways.

I think if he wanted to make money AN would have a cost. Pretty sure enwiabe has passion.

I think people would buy it -
I would buy it as long as the questions are an accurate representation or even a bit harder than normal exam questions.

Hmm... I would definitely buy it, I'm keen on your insight into things. Also, your spec solutions were superb for the exam from 2010, it really helped me to understand where I screwed up.

I tutor, so it would be really useful for myself to show these sorts of materials to the students I work with, etc.

Ideally, no more than $30. However, to self publish something like this, you're going to need a lot of time and patience. 450 pages at Officeworks is looking at about... ~$14 each copy, just for the paper and ink, provided you print more than 12 copies at once.

Postage and stuff would also need to be taken into consideration, as well as your release date, and known buyers. Overprinting could be a costly mistake.

However, I would definitely buy a copy or two, provided it is at a reasonable price.

Download my spec solutions for exam 1, 2010 and that's what I'm talking about.

Where are these spec solutions? I've tried searching on the forums and searching through enwiabe's last posts and couldn't find them.

edit: found them in the notes section, forgot to check there  :buck2:

Also, about self-publishing, there's services like http://www.lulu.com/ that allow you to upload your PDF, set the price and then people can order it online (where it will get printed on demand). I don't know what they're like with posting to Australia but I'm sure that there would be an Australian based company with a similar business model.

I wouldn't purchase it.

To be honest all study guides and books for VCE methods are rubbish. You really don't need them.

The combination of Textbook ($50) + Wikipedia (Free) + MIT lectures(Free) + ATARNotes (Free)+ School Teachers (Already paid for/Free) is way more than enough to get any student a 50 raw. All for $50.

Honestly, i wouldn't buy it because there alot of free exams that you can get from school out there which already have an established name  (e.g. companys like MAV, NEAP and Insight). topic tests are cool but it just sounds like checkpoints to me.

that's just i what i reckon, you're up against some stiff competition from other companies. perhaps try a mc or short answer app on the ipod touch, that's more likely to sell and less competition.

hope that helps :]
