Wasn't the question to prevent? I don't remember. But considering we're meant to know all about networks - CCTV is a pretty dumb answer.

The question was:
Quote
The best equipment to detect unauthorised access to a password-protected file would be
A.      keyboard swipe.
B.      encryption software.
C.      closed circuit television.
D.      virus protection software.

To be honest I'm not that happy with how the question was worded.  There's no debate about the interpretation of the word 'detect', but what about the word 'best'.  You could either interpret the word 'best' in this context as 'best solution possible' or 'best in the list'.  I suppose you could argue that it was really inferring the latter because it was a multiple choice question, but i'm not so sure that's the right way to go about it...

The best solution possible would be the best solution in the list though, it doesn't matter.
I'm still 100% sure it's A, even though i changed mine to D at the last second D:. (So if i hadn't gone over my exam, I would have got a higher score.)

I picked keyboard swipe, but unless you're meant to assume that a user swipes their card when trying access a file that they are not authorised to access and the information system or administrator receives notification from this, I think the answer must be CCTV.

I thought keyboard swipe was one of those biometric swipes on the laptop where you put your finger on the keyboard to get access. Thats why I chose it.
I guess I misinterpreted it.

I wrote that the file contains the absences file contains absences from 2009, or something along the lines of that

I wrote both, since I wasn't sure what they were asking:
The file is in the folder so and so.
Hence, the document is a report from 2009.

so so so so so not looking forward to getting results on the 13th now :/
i

I walked out of the exam thinking to myself, wow, that wasn't too bad...
and now i manage to find this forum and start stresssing to the max!
haha!

I mean, i made a deal with my mother so that if i get 42 as a raw score for ITA then she'd get me a MacBook Air (LOL),
so now im stressing not because of the mark i might get, but that i lost myself a macbook because of a stupid misworded question on keyboard swiping :/

I wonder how much they take the SACs into consideration, i mean i got 100% for SACs 1,2,4 and 98% for SAC 3  and got Dux of my class (very proud haha) but if i go really bad in the exam they could decide my teacher was too lenient?

Save me!!!
2010: IT Applications 3/4 (GA1,2,3 = A+, Study Score = 42?????)
2011: English, Further Mathematics, Business Management, IT Software Development and Legal Studies

Good News - 2 December 2010. A letter arrived from VCAA which said in part:

"In relation to VCE IT: IT Applications, Section A Question 3: Following consultation with the examination panel and study specialists, we have decided this item should not be used for differentiating student performance on the examination. Consequently, all students have received full marks for the question."

Following this... do you think the A+ cut off this year will be higher, lower or roughly the same?

Damn, that's so awesome.
I think it will be slightly higher than what it would have been, everyone gets +1, meaning people with the correct answer who were 1 up on students with an incorrect answer will now be the same and thus lose their ranking.
= more students with higher scores

so so so so so not looking forward to getting results on the 13th now :/

It says 50% for SACs, but i believe it's quite a bit less (and i pray for this!). I got Low B+ average, getting 79% Average on my SACs throughout the year, but I think i did well on the exam, have a look at mark kelly's solutions if u havent already and check what you put. I'm sure you'll be fine.
The top 8% of the state get a study score of 40+, considering the state-wide IT cohort, this shouldn't be too hard!
