I just realised how much I regret not taking two 3/4 in Yr 11 (Media ftw). I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same?

So.. what's your biggest regret in VCE?

Yeah, that's the only thing i would have changed during my VCE. Would have been better to do Further + Text and Traditions.( 2 subjects rather than one) .I guess i don't know where the good lies.

Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

My aim was to go through this year with no regrets. Unfortunately, my less than adequate time spent studying English has to be a big regret.

Probably not engaging with English sooner, turned out that it could be interesting.. Instead I just occasionally did what the teacher said to, which was boring and a turn off.

I'm really happy that I didn't repeat methods, no regrets there.

Idealistically I would've liked to have a few more subjects .. though it would be useless score-wise there are other areas that I would really love to explore and learn (actually now that I think about it probably only Texts and Traditions, all the rest are probably best done outside of VCE.)

Hmm, other than that not too many regrets. If I miss out on a scholarship by a small margin then my biggest regret will be a combination of being too darn careless in science/maths exams and not warming up to English sooner..

-Doing English  (although it still may work out)
-Not being allowed to do another 3/4 in year 11
-Doing Methods.  Should have done a bludge subject like PE or Psych.

Edit:  Should have done methods as a second sub in 2009 when it was piss easy...

  • Not doing Methods in year 11 ( school don't have such a program  >:( ),
  • Doing two Languages in Year 11 which meant I had to sit 6 hours of exams on in a row which sort of killed my score for the second exam.
  • Not doing Uni Maths  :P

Other than that I'm good. Can't wait for uni  :2funny: ;D

I regret the fact that my school doesn't allow me to do two 3/4's in year 11. I think I could have benefited from that.

Anyone who says otherwise really has no idea.

Doing 3/4's earlier is the best preparation for year 12.

It's a prereq for both your courses, lucky you kept it up :P

Mine was probably...well...I was pretty happy with how things turned out but I did spent far too much socialising and procrastinating rather than studying in the end

stonecold as if you regret methods you need it for both biomed and science, lol so clearly you dont..

my biggest regret is not working very hard, especially now when i took yesterday and sunday off, and just started working then for chem. arghh cannot be bothered - not sure how to regret not being motivated? can't be changed ><

and if onlyyy further in year 11 too, i would have gotten 48+ :(

Haha media? That's so weird, cos your subjects are really a polar opposite to that haha. I do have to say, media is one of the best subjects going around. But you can always make a film in your spare time I guess. :D

I do agree, I would have liked to do two 3/4s in year 11. My school wouldn't let me, I begged for weeks :(
