I thought biodiesel was derived from animal fats and plant oil
Fatty acid + Methanol -> Ester + Water
So the raw materials is basically the fatty acids (glycerols etc)

Glucose (from sugarcane mainly) is used to ferment into ethanol
Then ethanol is combusted for energy

You are Correct.
I think this guy meant "biochemical fuel" as it states in the vcaa 2009 exam.

Yeah I used ethanol and said glucose was the raw material, which was apparently wrong, i guess raw means "natural" so sugarcane accepted
