Taiga's VCE Maths Methods Tuition
« on: November 14, 2010, 01:06:05 am »
Taiga’s Educational Services

Current Status: Available during the holidays for charity cram sessions. << Click

As some of you who use the forum regularly might know, I graduated last year (2010) from Melbourne High completing Maths Methods, Specialist Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, and English.

I am looking to try and help students in their studies, offering an engaging head start into the year’s coursework, and preparing students for their assessments.

I am currently offering tuition in the following subjects:

  • Maths Methods Units 1-4
  • Year 7-10 Maths

Furthermore I also tutor lower year level Mathematics and Science. I do currently tutor VCE Chemistry, but this service will be discontinued come 2012 due to personal preferences. If students have any questions in VCE Chemistry, VCE Specialist Mathematics, VCE Physics, VCE English, VCE Geography, or University Mathematics, I will strive to help where I can. I'm also handy with a little bit of Economics.  My main aim is to try and help you as much as possible, so if I can answer questions for you in other subjects, I will do so when possible.

For all my students I always want to get an idea of where they are at, so the first lesson I generally like for students to take a test, give me an example of some of their other work, or give an honest self-evaluation of their capabilities. This is purely so that I can gain an idea of where your weaknesses and strengths are, such that I can tailor a style for you.

Furthermore I have over 1.4 gigabytes of electronic resources, varying from past examination papers, past SACs, personalized notes, and individualized tests tailored directly for you. My aim is to cut out all the worthless junk associated with VCE, and provide an insightful and efficient learning experience, saving you considerable time and stress, and also increasing your potential. If you have any questions about my method, feel free to PM me, I don't bite! =)

Location:
- Designated tutoring space at my home (Postcode 3150)
- Monash University Clayton
- Wheelers Hill Public Library

- For any other location just ask me via PM and I may be willing to travel out.

As for cost I charge 30$/hour for year 11/12s, and 25$/hour for year 10 and below. These rates are 5$ lower per hour if you choose any of those locations in green!

I also have a Working with Children Check (both Employee and Volunteer) which can be viewed on request.

A sample copy of some of my own resources is also available on this post.

If you have any inquiries please don't hesitate to contact me (PM).

He communicated very well and explained topics with great clarity and detail.
He is very laid back and he teaches you want you want to be taught and he teaches it well.
In one lesson I learned what i would normally learn in a month or two of schooling.

-Student, University High School (Weekly Student)

My son... said to me this morning how amazing it is that a person can learn more in one week one-to-one tutoring than you can learn in one year at school,..., I think we were very lucky to have found you.

Heavily endorsed.

This guy has helped me with problems ranging from chemistry and methods to girls and teachers.

Through MSN alone my chem 1/2 grades went from Bs to A+s.

Good attitude to approaching studies and balancing with facebook and extra-curricular and very social, meaning you'll be able to benefit from him in more ways than just boosting your understanding of course material.

As a frequent user of VCENotes, i have seen that he has a chilled attitude and sense of humour, both of which are essential as well as desirable qualities sought in a tutor. Also heard that he helped his friend pick up via a note at the derrick ha lectures. Endorsed.

Haha I did do the subject, and just for the record, I got alot higher than 23 :P
Though getting a 23 in that would not change my atar by very much :D

Just from his posts on VN you can tell he'd be very approachable and friendly which is such an important quality in a tutor.

Plus he's bloody hilarious. His different signatures each day are a testament to his good sense of humour. Double degree in midwifery and nursing all the way..
