-sighs- my parents are making me go to vu :'(

Ah well :)
If you get great marks, you'll be able to transfer to another university at the end of the year I'm pretty sure.

Nonetheless, I don't think your parents should be able to decide for you. It's your future.

Good luck anyway.

VU is like the complete and utter contrast of UoM. I mean, far out, VU is like just a big public school :P (and that's low). All the drug lords go there for education LOOOL (ok that's harsh lol)

Well the way my parents see it is that a degree is a degree whether its from VU or UoM, only difference is the reputation/prestige each university has... Oh well -sigh-

lol, not quite. Going to a 'prestigious' uni can translate into higher graduate salaries (on average) and it'll much easier to find and obtain a career at a large-firm (citi, exxonmobil etc) (providing you have the required work experience).

Also for a real case example, (totally unbiased, being the zealot I am :P) UoM's IT courses suck due to their out-of-date/irrelevant course material. This could potentially mean losing vital knowledge of some parts of the course. See?

It's more irrelevance in a rapidly changing market. I mean, they teach ELECTRONICS when the shift is moving towards analysis, design, consulting etc... Coding is offshored.

I have a couple of mates who are doing accounting at VU right now. However, I agree with the sentiments on this forum that VU is a poor standard uni.
Some snippets of what goes on in IRC:

<chath> ill say " i wont let you go until u kiss me bitch"

Quote
<@enwiabe> i have the BEST orgasms when i'm working through a math problem

Quote
<@mark_alec> my bikini line however, is most important

Are you scared yet?
