Tips for year 12

I've been told by my maths teacher that I should revise year 11 in preparation for next year. I was thinking that doing year 12 work out of textbook during school holidays might be better and may save time. What are your thoughts?

Yep. Do year 12 work instead. Most of the stuff overlaps. There's no point in learning some of the stuff from year 11 that won't come up in year 12.

Agreed. A lot of the 3/4 stuff is revision anyway.

+1 Thanx for making the point about 3/4 being mostly revision :)

go ahead and begin your yr 12 book like 2 or 3 chapters or as much as you can do .that way it would be second revision in class.

If you can, try to complete the course earlier than the school. That way you have more time to do an extensive amount of practice exams. I think this is what cost me in methods this year, even though I was ranked 1. I didn't set out enough time for myself to do a lot of practice exams.

You don't need that many prac exams =/ There are these ppl who do 40-60+ sets but that's just redundant; IMO you only need 15-20 sets.

I'm using Maths Quest 12 next year ( >:( ), should I work out of the Essentials, so the question I do during class are new to me?

Just do the year 12 course. I never got around to doing 1/2 and I found that only some bits of probability (hypergeometric sequences was one I think) required looking back at the year 11 course. So if you focus on the year 12 course now you should be pretty much set.

true, unless making one helps you to learn, then it is a waste of time as you won't have time to look through it in an exam...
