Yep I'm gonna do Wikileaks, just don't know how to target.

It would be easier to be persuasive on freedom of speech, but then I'd just look stupid in my school if I did that haha

I don't have any links or anything, though my school gave me some issues/topics which may be of use to students:

- Australia should withdraw all armed services from Iraq/Afghanistan
- Australia should legalise gay marriage
- Euthanasia should be legalised
- Climate change requires more decisive action by our government
- Bank fees and charges must be regulated
- The Internet is a dangerous development in modern society
- The so-called great Australian dream of home ownership is now over

Note that, although some of the issues above may not have occurred/been in the news in the past six months (i.e. from September 2010) - just some ideas to throw about.

crickey! good job :)

Agreed. I couldn't be bothered quoting funkyducky's massive post. Great idea. =D

Excellent advice. If you know your teacher well enough, you can tailor your presentation to suit their taste. Almost guarantees a good score :)

I don't know what's better; that or you standing in front of another English teacher and an external assessor/marker (which is what mine is like). =\

I suppose I get the raw end.

True, I'd be more nervous doing it in front of my mates - they'd mock me if I screwed up or something. LOL.
