Hmmm I dunno, at least teacher's don't laugh and/or discriminate hahaha

True, I'd be more nervous doing it in front of my mates - they'd mock me if I screwed up or something. LOL.
Exactly haha

I'm always scared that most 'gangsters' and 'da boys in da hooood' would laugh at you if you said something really 'academic'. :P

I'm thinking Asylum Seekers will be a doozy, especially considering what has just happened
sometimes I feel as if I'd be more enriched in life if I bought an RV and started cooking meth

is wikileaks an event or an issue
Julian Assange's court case that has been quite prevalent in the media over the past couple of weeks is an event, but it is only part of the larger issue surrounding Wikileaks, which relates to the concepts of freedom of information, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, internet censorship, etc.
Also, leaked cables and other confidential data could pose a threat to various governments and organisations, as well as putting people's lives in danger.

I was thinking to do a topic which many students aren't going to do. I'm pretty sure 60% of my year level will do Wikileaks, and they'll probably present the same views - I don't think I'd do that well, if I did Wikileaks - the marker/teacher will probably hear the same issue/topic over 100 times. It would be boring for him/her. The only problem being... I haven't found the topic/issue that I want to do yet.

I'd be cautious as to go with Wikileaks as my topic - depends on the view which you take.

Hmmmm, Asylum Seekers always seems to pop up...

Other than that, the news is pretty dull at the moment.
Maybe Oprah or the Ashes haha

I was sick of all the usually speeches about euthanasia, alchopops and the influence of celebrities on youth. So my speech was about being politically correct. It was fairly light hearted. There was stuff about Santa Claus, saying 'happy holidays' instead of 'Merry Christmas.'

Oh! And there was this really controversial yet funny billboard I used. You guys all have to check it out.

:O I got that on an easter card this year! There was another one that had jesus on the cross with a speech bubble saying 'worst easter ever.' I lol'd.

The RE department at my school all thought it was hilarious. We had a cool religious department. :)
