GAT marks playing role in final score

I heard a rumor that because of the very close marks this year in the 2010 Methods Cas Exam 2, the GAT was going to play a major role in seperating students  :(. Is there any truth to this?
Another question, does the GAT really work like a coefficent of your final mark, or is it just a backup indicator of your ability?
Thankyou

GAT can not moderate your exam mark unless you suffer injury or something. It can moderate your SACs however.

I think I read somewhere that in 99% of cases it will not change your score by more than 2.
