Okay since there are new MQ books and its like 'TI-NSPIRE 2.0 EDITION' or something. Does that mean a new version of the CAS is out or something and we have to buy the new ones? :|

The layout for 2.0 CAS software has changed so it might just be updated to that.

That being said, nothing is too different, so theres not really a need to buy a new textbook

Check what your teachers say, because some teachers prefer you using the 1.7 system

But they are not the ones sitting the exam... 2.0 has many advantages, especially in the graphing of functions

The TI-nspire CAS Touchpad is a different calculator all together [ picture here ]. The software however can be upgraded for free on the site I posted above. The new software makes analysing graphs far more efficient! :)

By 'version', I am thinking you mean OS. If by 'version' you mean the two different TI-Nspire CAS's, then the button layouts are different, but they both run on the same OS (ie. they both do exactly the same things despite the different looks).

The current OS (2.1) is available here: http://education.ti.com/calculators/downloads/US/Software/Detail?id=6767&ref=/calculators/downloads/US/Software/Search/Results%3fcp%3d6002%26ac%3d1#

To update your calculator, TI-Nspire Computer Link (v1.4) must be installed on your computer (also available also from above link) and a USB cable must be available to connect your calculator to your comp.

Follow prompts from here: http://education.ti.com/downloads/guidebooks/ti-nspire2/TI-Nspire_ComputerLink_EN.pdf, under 'Updating the Software and Handheld OS' --> 'Updating your Handheld OS' from the Bookmarks side-bar.

It has a touch pad (like a laptop), but not a touchscreen.

If 2.0 had advantages, 2.1 has even more... You are the one sitting the exams, you should have as much of an advantage as possible
