When I say 'this' Monday, I mean the upcoming Monday
When I say 'next' Monday, it means Monday week.

This Monday = This week's monday.

In South Africa it was vuvuzelas.
In Australia it might be something worse - kookaburra horns (soemthing completely random). D=

Imagine - all in the city - hundreds of kookaburra horns playing all around you.

I honestly didn't mind the vuvuzelas.  Thought they brought some culture to the event and made it more vibrant.

I can just imagine all the bogans whining that their AFL season got interrupted if it were to come here.

I'd take it as the week before because ideally/instinctively you should say 'yesterday'.
