I thought of that too, it asks you however to HENCE find the exact values of sin ( 15 ) ...

I would assume you are not allowed to use sin 15 in the first part of the question then.

Couldn't we use Sin(45-30)
and then do:
sin(45)cos(30)-cos(45)sin(30)?

what andiio said is probably the easiest way of doing it
Simply using sin(z) = sin(15) is much easier and less complicated; it is only simple trig anyways

Oh and, do you mean part (a)? You don't need to use sin(15) to find the values of the pronumerals o_o

I would say my method was what they were looking for since the question asks to find the pronumerals, plus the cos(x - y) thing doesn't show up until chapter 3.

Could anyone explain how to do questions 3, 4 or 5 from the Extended Response questions in the Toolbook review (chapter 1)? Thanks.
