What ATAR would you consider low for the Dux of a school?

Our Dux last year was 98+ but our Dux this year looks to be 95-96 :S

Is that one of the lowest Dux's in the state? What's Dux in the average school?

At my school:

2008 - 83

2009 - 87.50

2010 - 75 (?) :P

That record is about to get obliterated.  :)

Lol maybe.. That 75 there is just a low estimate ::)

I'd say like, 85?

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

My school had that once in 2006 (4 99.95s), but usualy ours is somewhere in the 99s. I don't ever show up to presentation night though so I don't know for sure.

Well my school is pretty crappy but the Duxes went like this (there's usually only 4 people above 95 and one freak who gets 98/99) :

2005: 99.80

2006: 99.70

2007: 99.45

2008: 98.45

2009: 98.95

I think that anything below 97 is kinda low. But if the school is really small that's understandable. A government school across the road had a DUX of 82 in 2007. I was at the awards night cos my sister went there in year 8. It was so awkward. The teachers were like "This is one of the best DUXs we've ever had!"... I was like  :-\

My school last year, had one student who got 99.95 and two other students who got 99.90. My school's best ever result was 3 students who all achieved perfect scores - 99.95 - I think that was in 2007.

I think my school's dux is rarely not 99.95

Same here. For the past 7 or 8 years, our school's dux(s) have gotten 99.95.

In 2009, 13% scored 99 or above; 42% scored 95 or above; 60% scored 90 or above while the median ENTER score was 92.3 - that's what it reads on my school's website, though I'm pretty sure it's a bit over-exaggerated.

haha It's a pretty crap school. The teachers are woeful. But there's always like 5 people who work hard enough to overcome that, hence the DUXs are still decent. Hoping to be one of those 5 who overcomes the odds this year :) :)

Me either. But I think I'll just have to deal with it. I'm expecting 95/96/97ish.. 98 would be the ultimate for me though :D
