Post counts and karma aren't cross-compatible between the different SMFs.

As in... when the profiles were ported across, I had 2756 posts.

I've made one post in HSC, one post in WACE and nine posts in VCE.
My post counts are 2757 in HSC and WACE, and 2765 in VCE.

Similar deal with the karma. You and Bob +ve karma'd me in VCE. My VCE karma went up, but not in the others.

Mmm...I think that's intended. From what I understand, enwiabe wants the forums to all be separate. I'm not really in a position to give an announcement on how the site is going to run across the multiple forums, but in the initial talks I had with enwiabe, I got a sense that he wanted to separate them at least at the start.

No, I was talking to Nina and Dan on chat last night about it. I think the conscious decision was made to integrate them.

Well that's good. That was my point of view as well but Dan had some concerns I guess. At least in the current set up, it's hardly a bug. Just a fundamental flaw in how the multiple forums are set up. I'm sure they'll fix it up later.

I'm sure they have backups, I think it's just a case of not everything going too smoothly with the switch to the new site. They'll be working on it I'm sure.

(So glad he didn't launch at 9am - who knows what else could have happened, lol)

I think the best way to go about it, would be "Victoria", "New South Wales", etc.
It still serves the purpose of segregating us by state, but doesn't label us all as "___ students".

You should have a drop down box "VCE student" "HSC Student" "Fuck everything else" "Uni student"

Yep, that'll probably have to be fixed on a case-by-case basis for existing members. When you sign up now, you can choose whether you're a VCE, HSC student and so on, or a ex-student. I think what they've decided to do is to assume every existing account is a VCE student since that's the easiest method, and fix the rest later.

But yes, it should be a drop down box so that people can change it accordingly after they graduate from high school and so on. Also, rather than having 'non-student' as an option, having uni student as Cthulu pointed out is probably a better option. Non-student makes it sound like you're a drop out or a teacher.
