Correct me on this - GAT test
« on: December 13, 2010, 07:50:34 pm »
So tomorrow the GAT will be coming in the mail
But the results for the GAT have already been added to the results we got today right??
If not, can GAT increase you ATER?

Sorry if  someone has already answered this...but just want to make it clear to myself

GAT only affects your ATAR when you apply for a derived score, having said that, your ATAR will not change as a result of receiving your GAT results tomorrow.

Yep, all has been calculated with considerate given to the GAT. You'll just receive your GAT score tomorrow.

@_aVO - it can increase your ATAR, but can't decrease it.

sorry worded it wrong, I meant your ATAR right now is fixed, by receiving your GAT results tomorrow it can't change the ATAR anymore

Really? I thought it could pull down your score if you performed poorly on the GAT!? Where did you find this?

When offers are made is when the figures emerge, whether or not they are published I'm not sure... But you can always form a good idea of what you need to achieve from looking at the 2009 figures. Usually they don't change majorly unless there is a significant shift in the supply and demand for the course.

LOL, no problems. I remember in year 11, it was all pretty massive and confusing.
