Inspection of Examination script just means you get to see your exam, plus i think they show you the assessor's notes. Doing this won't let you get extra marks.

If you thought there was a serious issue with the exam, you had to contact your VCE coordinator shortly proceeding your exam to make a formal complaint. I believe it is too late to do this now, so you can't really get your result changed.

There was nothing wrong with the exam itself, I'm unhappy with one thing really:
GA 1 : Unmoderated = High B, Moderated = A
GA 2 : Unmoderated = High B, Moderated = A
GA 3 : A+
SS : 39

I'm positive my SACs were not graded properly, so I want to get them RE-graded.
I've also been told by friends that they know people who have gotten their exam(s) re-graded, for an additional charge of $10.00
I thought the form had relevant options to do this and just wanted to know which options they were and whether my principal's signature is necessary.

Do you feel that you deserve a better 'unmoderated' SAC grade? The moderation is based on where you sit in your cohort and how the quartile you are in (25%, median, 75%, top mark) performed in the external assessment. Judging from your moderated grade I think this is fair

Yes, definitely. It troubles me that:
 A: My SACs were roughly 30 pages each (quality>quantity I know) in which i completed each question thoroughly and to the best of my ability.
 B: There was one actual *flawed* SAC. For a unit 4 SAC, I was lucky to ask for the criteria (after receiving terrible results for unit 3 SACs, which he REFUSED to tell us, but got given in our reports) because there was a question with 4-5 parts totalling 4marks which was excluded from the question sheet. This goes to show how good the conditions were and the quality of SACs.
 C: Whilst I may not deserve a rank 1, I know that I should be atleast rank 2 or 3, instead of 4 and that my grades should have been at least unmoderated A - A+'s
I had an extremely weak cohort, out of 10 students, so I'm going to assume my SACs were wrongly marked and have dragged my exam score down (which was the second highest i believe)
Thirdly, he made us submit our SACs in a hardcopy - this compromised many components of the SAC, e.g - he could not see how our formulas in excel worked, how our queries in microsoft access worked..whilst im not sure if this is normal (submitting in hard copy) it definitely shows that he was careless in marking..



Anyway, avo_ do you know how i'd go about getting my exam(in the hope of an extra mark or two) and SACs (in the hope of getting it COMPLETELY regraded) inspected?

I understand, especially because I'm doing methods (in which i would almost certainly achieve higher than IT, unless i got a 50 in IT, which i don't think i could have even with correct SAC marks) IT will have to be in my bottom 2 by default - similar to the 3 maths things.
BUT, with that said, is it not disappointing that, after such hard work (i worked my ass off on all SACs, except the very last one in which i probably deserved the mark i got) and the exam, is it not disappointing to have a compromised score because of an incompetent teacher?
So, this is why I am disappointed!

I say just take that 39 and deal with it. It can't be changed, so there's no point dwelling on it, just aim higher next year. 39 actually seems about right, sac grades of an A average don't really translate to 40's I believe, even with A+ exams, usually one would need all 3 A+'s for a 40. Trust me, just because you got an A+ in your exam doesn't guarantee you a 40, for all you know it could be a low A+. I was mortified after bombing my exam, but after many long days stressing over the past I realized the future is all that can be changed. Sorry but that's just how it is 39 is good, you're not the only one who's disappointed!

Okay, that kinda sucks, HOWEVER - I was curious because my teacher at the start of the year told me that there was a way to do this, and my friends had also known people who have done it, really got my hopes up.. Also it wasn't an A average, it was a B average which was moderated to an A!
And (Sorry if i sound like i'm whining unnecessarily) there was this one guy who got A+ A+ A and yielded a 42.. --> really annoyed me lol!

Incorrect, it's still 11, because i wont get a 50 for methods (just too unlikely, at most, a 45-48) but yea, i get you, i wouldn't get a 50 with re-adjusted SACs..

Firstly, don't worry to much on the 39. 39 is still an excellent score, and you have all of next year to work hard and get other good scores. It could always be your 5th/6th subject, so really it will barely make a difference. I think its best not to dwell on it, and for instance, the best IT score at my school was only 38, so 39 is not bad at all!

However, answering you're question, you can lodge a complaint about your exam. However, you will need to first "inspect" your scripts (either at the VCAA or your school), which cost $9.40 or $20, respectively. It is recommended you purchase a Statement of Marks ($8.80) prior to this. If there is believed to be an error in your exam (quite rare), a principal can make a student examination reassessment application on behalf of you. Such a form would be provided to you.
As for SAC's I have no idea, and I think its a bit late to change them, would probably be a good idea to have talked to your VCE coordinator earlier on in the year. Call her/him up now, and maybe the VCAA - they will let you know.

If you want your sac score change it is near impossible, but get your statement of marks and if your exam mark is 3-4 marks above A+ cutoff then even if all ur sacs were A+ you would only get a 40 or 41 which isnt much difference to a 39 since it scales down for IT.

I recommend buying a statement of marks, seeing which questions you got incorrect and then inspecting your exam.

Anyways, I went to school today to sort this nonsense out.
My IT teacher told me, that I could get my SACs re-assessed BUT it's most likely they would be graded down or may no difference at all.
As for the exam, he told me he was pleased with my results, but dis-heartened because the worst performing student brought me and the top student down - he said i had gotten a score enough for 43+.
He also recommended i get my exam re-assessed and that if i need any support from him what so ever, i can contact him etc.
So, I'll carry out the inspection at school, i've ordered my SoM too.
Anyone know how long it takes for it to arrive?
