Oh, and btw, the school names in the Herald Sun are heaps out of date, the Age ones are accurate. No idea why, it's weird.

Yeah, but what if there are school name errors?

There's really only so much I can do. Given that there are 497 names here, it would take incredibly long to check every single one against the name in the newspaper. It's not like the newspaper is 100% correct, anyway. This is what I managed to do so far. It's definitely got a few errors in it. If you really want, you can correct whatever other errors you find. It's a start.

I might go through with the paper now and check. ;D

There are so many other subjects to do, though. The whole process of scanning everything with OCR and then checking all of the names against The Age is huge and will take weeks with several volunteers. Now I feel inclined to go through and fully correct Accounting. :D

Yeh, I think the overall project requires more motivation than I have. Does anyone else have ideas? The only option I have is if anyone has online access to the age, thats the only possibility...

I think humanoidegg seems to have it covered.  :)

Alternatively, why can't the Herald Sun or Age not email us the list of results they used in their paper?

If you tell them it is for an archive, I don't see why they wouldn't do it.

I will try to email them.

Yep I'm gonna wait and see what humanoidegg has in mind first before I make anyone do any more hard labour...

I have emailed the Sun and they haven't responded, although quppa himself emailed them regarding the changes and it seems that they didn't send it to him, so I'm not sure whether they want to export it or not.

I'm going to contact The Age now and see what they can offer.

That's what I was going to say.. They have the list with school names. Surely we can get them to share it. Not like there's any privacy issues, it was published already..

Exactly, I've explained the reasons why as well, so I don't see why not. I'll pay the $1.50 for the Age itself if they think I want to cheat them haha

They're probably wondering why they are getting an influx of people all asking the same thing, hopefully they'll cave because of it!

I'll pay $20 for it.  Time is money.  This could eliminate the cbf factor haha.

On a side note, VCAA bloody hell.  Faxed in my SoM app, and $50 already gone out of my account!  They must be really poor lol.
