If you're interested in getting the edge when it comes to VCE, then I'm the tutor for you!
I am passionate about tutoring and have spent a lot of time already working with others to draw the best out of them. VCE isn't just about how smart you are; in fact it's far more about how efficiently and effectively you spend your time, how you approach your work and exams, and about doing your best to get ahead of the system. Anyone can teach you the structure of an essay, how to read an NMR graph or the steps of meiosis and mitosis, but I believe I can greatly improve your writing, your marks and above all your
understanding.
My credentials:
- ATAR of 99.95, dux of Scotch College, aggregate of 213.4
- 4 raw 50s in Biology (2009), Chemistry, English and German and a 45 in Maths Methods
- 5.5 / High Distinction in Uni Chemistry - Monash University Enhancement Program
- Invited to Chem Olympiad summer school, but did not attend as I was in Germany on an exchange on scholarship
- 99th Percentile for UMAT
- Received a scholarship to attend the International Science School at Sydney University in 2009 (apart from anything else, I highly recommend anyone who loves science applies for this in 2011 http://www.physics.usyd.edu.au/foundation/iss/iss.shtml )
I was Captain of Music, a School Prefect, a senior debater and public speaker at Scotch this year - I believe breadth during VCE is absolutely essential to success. In addition, I have a very wide range of resources, the best of which I will compile and use for tutoring you! I have studied a wide range of English texts and if I didn't study yours I am more than happy expand my palette to include them. For English, it's
vital that whichever tutor you have knows the specific text you're studying back-to-front, and I understand how important this is!
I would love to tutor Chemistry, Biology and German for units 1&2 and 3&4! (for maths; I'd recommend Tram)
Also, as an aside, I have plenty of maths books which are all for sale! They have the calculator sections for the TI-89, so if anyone wants Methods CAS, General Maths or Specialist books and solution supplements I'd be happy to sell them very cheap!!
I live in the South-Eastern suburbs (Hawthorn East) but am studying medicine at Monash Clayton this year; for more information and contact details, please send me an email at
[email protected]
EDIT: I may only take 1 or 2 more students.
