Not in science, you can pick whatever you want (eg pure maths major etc.)

sounds similar to the units i did

but looking at the assessments most of them r just midsemester tests and exams! omg monash assessments way harder :P

ur going to melbourne so not sure

at monash we have a good micro and immuno department
course is structured well and the pracs as well
most of the lecturers r pretty good, some really good ones

Russ also we had 2hr tutes for the theory immunology unit but you only have 3 lectures and we also had pracs for both molecular and medical micro, you only have 3 lectures! u only have 1 unit that has pracs in it

tbh, I would prefer to have optional tutes (or even compulsory) because they're awesome.

@truelight, um i guess to both of you :) seeing as your both doing biology-based courses
@russ i mean is the course very interesting or are there dull areas you have to learn, i mean i saw the way you spoke of viruses lol

ah yeah it does help consolidate the info from the lectures and i had an awesome tutor (too bad she wasn't accepting honour students next year)

^ hey i know some ppl who loved virology, they were freakishly smart.... for me it was just so much
although i have to say i learnt alot of techniques in the pracs plus killed a 12day old chicken, had a good demonstrator and we went to aahl in geelong which was very cool

Virology is just hard, that's the reason I/we hate it.

But the course overall is great, everything you do at uni will have bits that are tough/difficult etc. Looking forward to the major regardless
