I don't really tolerate anything less than full marks, and whilst this is not always possible, it will always be my goal and i'll continue to strive for it.
Lol I used to be like this, but now I only adopt this attitude towards exams. IMO it's a detrimental attitude to hold towards SACs and tests, as it leads you to do a lot of redundant work: work that has minimum benefit. A perfectionist attitude, however, prevents you from letting go of any activity with the slightest benefit. It's hard to let go and experiment with more efficient and effective methods when you're so attached to getting perfect marks in the first place.
This term I have experimented with avoiding the extensive preparation (except for English) I used to do for my SACs. And what has happened? Exact same results as before. Which means a lot of what I was doing before was a total waste of time.
Yeah, only for exams, I totally agree. I was so cut after my first Methods SAC this year, after about a week I realised that if I carried on like this every time I made a couple of mistakes, it will be the end of me. But for exams, you've got to aim for full marks.
And yeah, I know happy. People in my boat all get stuffed over, with students who get a 95+ ATAR getting a chance at UQ as long as they do LOTE or Specialist Maths, all highly relevant to medicine might I add, whilst anything less than 99 ATAR for all other students get the door slammed in their face.
Why the hell not make biology a prerequisite?
