I remember last year that the "selected newsagents" were published on the Herald Sun's website a few days before Round 1 offers.
Yep that's correct, but I can verify that the newsagents themselves haven't heard anything from the Herald Sun regarding whether they want to participate, but I would expect we'd hear something next week...

(Image removed from quote.)

It refers to 13th January here,
and in the list of Key Dates for VTAC it lists 17th January 7:30 pm

(Image removed from quote.)

does this mean i can find out in the newspaper 13th January?! or just earlier than 7:30pm on the 17th like Luke said?

Typo I guess.  In previous years, it's always been on a Monday but I would go with the 17th.

This isn't a typo. The 13th is the deadline for changing the offer publication status.

Now that I read it properly, thank you for pointing that out.  13th is indeed the deadline for changing whether or not you want your offer to be published by the major newspapers.

If I remember correctly, the offers are also printed again in the following day's newspapers (Herald Sun and The Age) but my memory on this isn't too good.

The paper is published that evening, and will be distributed to certain newsagencies (they havent been confirmed yet as I work at one haha)

if you live close to the city, chances are you will get it before you can get it online

Its just like the 40+, but instead it has the way you presented, just pages upon pages of kids names, vtac course code and then a few pages showing what the codes correspond to
So there won't be our VTAC ID on it? The only way to search for the offers is your name? I mean stating our VTAC ID numbers seems unfair, provided someone has your birthday and can easily access your ATAR online...

Someone pls clarify this, thanks!

You search by your last name and your postcode. From what I remember. So a course code is listed next to your last name and postcode and then you check what course corresponds to that code you've been assigned.

And even if they did have your VTAC ID and birthday the online access to results closed on the 20th of December.

This is how it looks on The Age website (from last year):

http://www.theage.com.au/vtacguide/

But in the paper, it is just set out as:

Smith, Jane, 3001, 12345 Smith, John, 3000, 12345 etc

If i selected "no" to publishing my offer, can i still change it?
I went on vtac and can't seem to find an option.

I think you still can. Should it be under the GAT options?

AAAAAAAAAHHH
SO the 13th January is the deadline to change that option
it does not mean you get offers any days earlier

ok so i think i'll just jump on Herald Sun website at 6.30pm monday 17th
and then, you know, START CRYING :( haaaaaa

edit: considering writing an email to VTAC for such a misleading thing on their wesbite :P
