1 of these for each subject will increase your productivity by 20 times:

A Pencil, pen and eraser and ruler for the rest will suffice and some scissors and glue..also a key ring just in case

I've spent the last 15 minutes trying to think of a great set up for a joke or something to write here, but just can't for the life of me think of one.

dude, if you haven't noticed, there are dotted lines on the top right hand of each page for you to write the date.

@ any Lit Students: I think you'll need a 3 ring binder + loose leaf sheets + dividers. This worked for me because it was easier to look back at several notes scattered here and there, rather than needing to flip/turn the pages because important info was spread over 2000 pages (lol). Anyway, it's easier to give to your teacher to mark.

Bad side of this is obviously that you may lose some pages or after your session of furious essay writing, your notes are everywhere and you cbf putting them back into the folder again. But let me tell you, Lit is a subject where access to your notes are imperative, and a book will very likely be worn away throughout the course of the year.

For maths subjects: i LOVE Spirax 240 pages. You can split it into columns of exactly 10 cms and i never seem to run out of pages (for me, one 240 pg book will last me the whole year with about 75 left over pages). :P

For lit last year (1/2) I used those really cute small (smaller than A4, not quite A5) Pukka notebooks with the dividers that you can move around. Best, since with lit I usually carry around novels, and a novel is nearly the same size as that notebook, and you can use the dividers to divide between different texts.

I'm going back to the traditional binder with loose leaf thing this year though.

For English, Literature, BusMan and Further Maths.. I have the ring binders and loose leaf. Every other year I had used just exercise books, but after a student speaker (who just finished Year 12 the year before or something) came in and stressed the fact we should use loose leaf with the folders instead, I decided to take it upon myself to listen. The idea of being able to move my notes wherever I want sounds great to me!

For Accounting, I was advised only to have a display folder.. The work goes in the workbook (duh!) and the handouts are really just notes. Hence, display folder.

Also, I figure, if I need more stationary than that - I can just go buy it throughout the year. :buck2:

Exactly, although i tend to split mine into 3 columns.. The main thing i love about it is that there is space for the date on the top-right corner of each page

hehe that's pretty much what ive got :S
Apparently loose leaf and a folder is one the best ways to have your notes, as you can retain information better - just something i was told at a lecture.
