MUEP/UMEP Offers Countdown!!!

anyone know how strict the study score requirements are for uni chem and the required grades?

i didn't do chem as a 3.4, but did pretty well in my other two.

It doesn't really matter, I didn't do 3/4 Chem either (I don't really think anyone does)

As far as marks, our teacher is the Enhancement teacher at our school and he basically recommended anyone in our class to do it, and we don't have a strong cohort by any means (highest SS this year was 35, this included 2 enhancement kids), so I don't think they really worry at all

Correction And yes he recommends enhancement to everybody. A girl in my class this year got a C+ on the mid year for vce chem and she said she just crammed a couple of days before the uni chem mid year and still got a credit. So it seems like vce chem is harder to do well in for most than uni enhancement...

I think I received my offer a little earlier since people trying out for MUEP Japanese had to hand in their reports on the 3rd of Dec + have an interview with the coordinators (mainly to assess language proficiency) before releasing offers

PS. I like the fact that we get free lunch

Yeah Jap is the odd one out for the application process, so I spose that's fair that you find out first, but I wanna find out now!

My friend who tried out for MUEP Biology just texted me saying she got the offer so maybe it is random?

then again she did get 48 in Bio 3/4 so she was in with no question

lol...I would be similarly upset given my scores...but I don't see why it matters. Think about the UMEP people who won't get theirs until next Monday!

Yeah I would be if I were you, your scores are amazing so there'd be something wrong if you didn't get in!

haha I got ANOTHER text from ANOTHER friend who got into MUEP Biology with a 42 in Bio

must be my schools lucky day or something

I know people who got into mathematics with a 35 in methods. Not to lessen the awesomeness of being a part of the program...but it's very easy to get into.

I remember there were 3 people here who mentioned...

-their friend didnt get into uni maths with a 35, most likely because of his/her other marks in the report
-1 person didnt get in (its in this sub-forum somewhere because of their physics)
-1 person didnt get into UMEP maths but appealed again and she got in

i did chem olympiad this year, and got A+'s in the mid year but only A in the end of year, do you reckon itll matter?

Chem Olympiad? Of course you'll get in. Were those scores for 1/2 or 3/4 chem?  There are kids applying for it with a C+ average from a mediocre school, do I'm sure you'll be fine!

im debating whether or not to go its like 6 hours, the only incentive is free lunch
