Prefects are mentioned in Harry potter and macrob used to have prefects.
They are pretty much in charge of people in their year level or house. They are given permission to hand out detentions, tell people off, sort out problems etc. But this was the days back in the 60s and 70s. I'm not so sure about what prefects do now.

Wow Burberry! Dux of 2011 goes to you :D

I did some chem, a little physics, some englang, and i'm going to play german by ear. I only finished one course - spesh, and that's not even to 100% yet
