your email will be jsmith or smithj @student.unimelb.edu.au. @ugrad.edu.au will also work.

EDIT: 13 MELB? Since when can you even just call 'the uni'?

13MELB is the new call centre they set up to deal with this stuff. They offered me a job but I laughed in their faces, no amount of money is worth dealing with the crap their new system produces.

Call the Contact Centre on 13 MELB (136352) if calling within Australia, or phone +61-3-9035 5511, if calling from outside Australia, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm AEST."

It had it on the enrolment page. Was on hold for like 15 minutes and had to listen to AWFUL opera music. The singing pierced my eardrums so I had to hold the phone like 30 cm away from my ear!

The guy didn't really know much. Every problem I said he's like " ohhhh...... ummmm yeah.....I'll email the IT dept about that"

It's because they're all uni students who wanted holiday work and ignored the training day :P

WRT to emails, just sign up for the google apps email and then you can just access your email through a regular gmail account

Oh wait I think I remember something about that. It's basically just a reception type service where they hear your problem and say "oh, sounds like you need to talk to x department," then either patch you through or give you their number. They might have a sheet with answers to some basic queries, but not a whole lot. Your best bet if you want something is to find the number of the relevant staff member or student centre on the website and call that.

That's exactly what I thought it would have been as soon as he answered the first question! haha I thought I was getting put through to melb uni specialists or something haha. But luckily VN answers basically all questions a hundred times better than any other source. So thanks guys! :)

Okay, so I logged in and reached the second last step which is the enrolling subjects/study plan/whatever you call it. I can leave it there until Academic Advice Day, right? What do we even bring to the enrolment during our allocated times? Mine's at 10am-11am on some street not far off the main campus.

I suck at paperwork hence my questions.

yeah ..i think you leave it there, for the enrolment-information session~i will just bring a pen and the booklet that came along with the letter, so i can write in it.

also i have a question regarding to this quote
"Completing two majors may preclude students from being eligible for honours in either discipline. Students are advised to obtain course advice and plan their subjects carefully in order to keep their options open for honours."

so ...is it good to do a double major or not?i want to do a honours degree as well...sighs  ;D

Haha, instead of the umat, uni's should just give med places to those that are able to enrol in the course properly.
