I remember this time last year when I was so excited about going to uni.

Anyway this isn't really the place to ask but does anyone know when you're allowed to create your timetable?  Is it Feb 1 because the portal said 4 weeks before we go back.

Do you mean see what your timetable will look like? Cuz you can (kinda) already do that by manually going to each subject page in the handbook and drafting it up. 2011 lecture and tute things are already there.

I think I read somewhere that timetabling starts on Jan 30. My memory could be faulty though.

I don't want to miss the day because there is no way I am going to uni five days a week, no matter which course I am doing.

And timetabling opens mid feb from memory, it's not straight after enrollment finishes

True, they've apparently changed it since my 1st year when it was timetabled horribly (all the compulsory subjects were on different days)

Because Sci now takes preference over Arts timetabling - something which was realised last semester when the subjects were ridiculously timed and all clashed with one another.
Anyway, yes, and also we get to choose our own times from the beginning rather than getting the timetable made and then transfers becoming available later...

On the 31 January, every UoM'er to my place.  The system never seems to crash where I am for some reason.

Sorry for the noob question...... buttttttt

do we get given a proper email address like [email protected] or something? I thought we would.... I've activated my account (student portal + email) but it just has my username as the first letter of my first name at the front of my surname. Do we get an actual email address? Cos I'm trying to register to make an itinerary for AAD and it says to put your email address in, I thought it meant our melb uni one or, does it mean your normal email address? :S

Sorry, just kinda confused by the whole email system and I tried calling 13 MELB and they didn't really help...

Hopefully a VNer will know!
