Why can I not do this for Biomed and at least get a day off?

Because they hate you. The lecturer's time is infinitely more valuable than yours, sadly enough.

And everyone talking about jumping to 2nd/3rd year subjects...there are some you can do it for, mostly uni breadth, but you'd better be damn sure that you can handle the subject. Doing 8 1st year subjects this year isn't going to kill you and you sure as hell don't want to be taking any of the subjects I am.

I got a day off for both semesters in first year biomed.  Even when Alloc8 randomly spat out timetables in first semester I had Thursdays off, so it's very possible!

Also, i'm trying to enroll into the breadth subject "ANCW30011 (670-378) Underworld and Afterlife" and on the handbook, it says there are no prerequisites. However, when i try to enroll, it says:

"This subject has a Pre-requisite of 1 Spk(s) in ANCW%, and Year Level = 2 that has not yet been met."

What does the first prerequisites mean, and can i only take this past year 1?

Does this mean i can't take it? (even though the handbook doesn't mention any of these)

.

I know that some of the 3rd year history subjects (ie that) require at least one previous history subject. If it doesn't mention it in the handbook then maybe it's been changed, but that could be it.

Living longer is good but you have to write an essay for it, heads up for those who don't like that. I'm doing it myself sem2

I would stay away from internet meets society and ecological history of humanity.

HPS is pretty good

Why would you stay away from An Ecological History of Humanity?
I've been considering it.

I'm really don't want to do any of the subjects in the medical sequence because of the weekly blog that forms 30% of the assessment.
2009: Biology [46]
2010: Literature [44], Chemistry [50], Physics [46], Mathematical Methods CAS [46], Specialist Mathematics [42]

ATAR: 99.70

What do you guys think of:
The medical sequence:
UNIB10003 (800-175) An Ecological History of Humanity
UNIB20013 (800-275) Body, Mind and Medicine: A Dissection
UNIB30005 (800-375) Living Longer: A Global Diagnosis

(800-150) Internet Meets Society

History & Philosophy of Science

Criminology

Oh and I never got to see, but
Urban Environments?
Im doing Body, Mind and Medicine: A Dissection in sem 2  :D

Anyone know any feedback on the following breadths, I'm tossing up which I should do first and would be interested to know of any experiences people have had with them (good or bad):

- Principles of Business Law

- Accounting Reports and Analysis

- Principles of Marketing
2010 ATAR: 98.35 - Psychology [50] Media Studies [47
2011-'13: Bachelor of Biomedicine [Neuroscience Major] at Melbourne Uni
2014-'17: Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Melbourne Uni

Weekly blog isn't terrible. You'll have to do 10 entries (one a week), each one worth 3 marks, so it's not like they wait until the end and then mark it.

Ecological history...I just don't like the incredible breadth of content. They're speeding through a whole lot and I can see that being a pain when it comes to assessment. But who knows, it's one of the three subjects I'm still considering for sem1 breadth

Those three subjects (PBL/ARA/PoM) are apparently really boring but not particularly hard.

Also in MB%M there are marks allocated to collaborative exercises and your peers assess you, obviously this can be an opportunity of mutual beneficence, students would likely help themselves out..right lol

Your peers definitely do not assess you, where are you getting that from?

That's really weird then, perhaps I'm wrong, but I seriously doubt your peers are going to be doing any meaningful assessment

OH And do we need to consider any majors now? I have absolutely no idea which one I'm going to pursue yet...
but do we need to start doing prerequisite subjects NOW??

You're in biomed, you don't need to worry about prereq subjects until next year (if ever). Plus, you don't have room for them anyway haha
