well once it opens, everyone attempts to get into the classes they want so if you're starting later then they might already be filled

OMG I AM TOTALLY GOING TO MISS TIMETABLING BECAUSE OF WAITING FOR SECOND ROUND.

What's the deadline?

You'd hope to solve all timetabling issues by the first day of semester 1 but for some people, though clashes and whatnot, it's a real pain in the backside.

Just noticed this: https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2011/AGRI10041

Wine tasting in a breadth subject! Could get messy..

If you do this in a CSP place its basically government sponsored drinking... ;D

Any Unimelb students have any experience with, or heard anything about this subject (and the ones listed at the bottom of the page)? : https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2011/UNIB20013

Pretty sure I'm going to do them; they look really interesting to me.

When the system opens, you tick all the class times you want out of a list of available times. If there is still space in the class, it will let you tick it. If the class is full, it won't let you tick it and you'll have to tick another one.

I see, when does the system open?

This has been answered thirty times in the last few days on this forum.

Hasn't opened yet, opens 31st Jan.

When will we know our timetables?
Do we get to choose our lecture times and stuff?
and how many days a week does a typical student attend uni?

On the 31 January starting at 10 am, you will be able to construct your entire timetable on the student portal.  You can either create it from scratch or let the system "try" to create a class-free timetable for you and then you can move things around.  You will be able to choose everything - lectures, tutes, labs and seminars (if applicable) based on the times they are offered.

How many days a week a student attends uni depends on the course they are doing.  Arts and Commerce students may be able to get days off but biomed and science students on the other hand will be extremely lucky in first year.

P.S.  I don't think biomed students can have a day off in first year based on their contact hours...  But I'm not sure.  Russ will be able to inform you.
