gday, just a quick question, can anybody explain what the middleband is?
and also if you ARE in the middleband, does that mean you dont get a round 1 offer, and you can only get a round 2 offer?

thanks!

Yup. If you're not above the clearly in, and not "clearly out", you will be in the middle band. Basically for every different course, they will look at different factors. eg. How you performed in your prerequisite studies, if they were over 30; if you did any additional subjects such as biology, legal studies (remember, just an example). (Look at the middleband requirements on VTAC for your course). These additional factors may give you extra aggregate points if you satisfy them, and then you can be ranked up higher :)

Eh, I think you will get a round 1 offer, and that round 2 offers only work when people decline their first offer.... but I'm not quite sure if that's right.

Dothe first round offers all come in the same day? Example I picked Engineering at Monash and RMIT for my preferences, do the offers come at the same day so that I know which uni to choose from on the first round offers.

I'll just quote from my previous post.

Round 2 is only applicable to you if your round 1 offer was either not your first preference or if you didn't receive an offer in round 1.

All round 1 offers come out on the same day.  And you can only get one offer per round so there is no choice.

You are strongly recommended by VTAC not to list your preferences from highest ATAR to lowest ATAR (unless if that is what you want).  Instead, you should list your preferences in the order that you want.  That is, number 1 should be your dream course and the one you really, really want to do next year, regardless of what the Clearly-In ATAR was last year.

This is so you get your most desired course and won't have to go to the trouble of applying for an Irregular Offer.
