Where can I borrow the Rosetta Stone program in Victoria?

Hi everybody!

I am wondering whether anybody knows any places where I can get the Rosetta Stone CD software for learning foreign languages. I am particularly interested in learning Arabic, Japanese and Mandarin but haven't found any places which allow me to borrow the software. It is quite expensive for me to purchase and I cannot afford to buy it personally. I've already tried checking the Brimbank library service however they don't really offer the CD for lending. Here is a link to a website which sells it to anyone who doesn't know what it is:

http://www.therosettastone.com.au/ggau1/?s_kwcid=rosetta%20stone|5470681510&prid=ggau1

Anyway, any advice/help regarding this dilemma would be appreciated!

You can download it from the net/torrents. A quick google search will show many results. It is, of course, illegal to do this..

I personally don't think Rosetta Stone is very good - It'll get you from "absolute beginner" to "very beginner" imo.

I did the entire Rosetta Stone Spanish course before taking evening classes at a language school. And while I would get 100% in nearly all the Rosetta Stone reviews/tests, it didn't help with much other than to provide me with a very limited vocabulary. On the plus side though, I did find it to be quite enjoyable, and very easy to progress through.

Yeah, my experience with Rosetta Stone also hasn't been too positive. Maybe try using the CD you can track down at the library and see if you like it. Otherwise, torrenting works.

I must agree. I gets pretty old clicking those pictures all day (I did some of the Korean and Chinese Rosetta Stone before I got bored).

I also er, "obtained" mine through the magic of the internet.
