'Yes, 4,620 times' - FB

Not as many as I thought.

'Yes, 4,327 times' - VN

OMFG. I've nearly been on VCENotes as many times as I have been on Facebook D:
2011 - English, English Language, Philosophy, Indonesian SL, Outdoor and Environmental Studies.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”
― Hunter S. Thompson

Facebook supplements socializing and is also a good way of relieving stress. As long as you're disciplined about it, I don't think deactivating it is that necessary.

My stance, anyway.

spoken like a true addict.. :P

But yeah, I agree.. spoken like a true addict -_-

He makes a good point though.

Discipline is the key. Plenty of people spend 3 hours on facebook while writing an essay at the same time and justify it as 3 hours of study. This is an immense trap that people fall into. Whatever you do, make sure you do it in isolation because multi-tasking between study and facebook just won't work, since the latter will always prevail since it's more interesting.

How about you all just move away from the computer in the times you spend studying? No need to completely cut yourself off from the world.

I found myself using VN so much in year 12 despite having no facebook, it was perhaps, my Fb equivalent, I think if you use things reasonably then it should be fine.
Ancient Persian Proverb; " I Wept because i had no Shoes, until i saw a man with no feet!"

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.
