Also, stop trying to make your writing interesting. Don't try to engage your reader. Save this for your context piece. Your purpose is to analyse language, and nothing else. Don't entertain, just analyse.

If you do your job properly, it shouldn't be too dull. If you have a great analysis it'll be interesting because it's such an amazing piece of work. You don't need to add in superfluous phrases to make it interesting.
