Why would you even go to lectures if you're just going to sleep or use a laptop. Might as well just skip them completely.

Because you can't help it.  You rock up at a 9 am lecture and the lecture is so damn boring that no reception in the theatre leaves you no other alternative to keep you awake.

I find that Arts lectures move too slow for me.
I get bored if I'm not on the internet at the same time.
I enjoy multitasking, I believe it builds upon life skills.

Hey are the biomed exams staggered throughout the 6th of June to the 24th of June as per the Uni calendar?

My friend just said that he'll pay for me to go to Cambodia with him from the 4th until the 23rd. Worst timing ever :(

Edit: Also, if I want to see if I can do Calc 1 instead of Calc 2 (having done spesh and getting >27) should I email Mark Hargreaves?

I can tell you that 99% of the times that Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 exams will be in the first week.  So if you're doing either of those subjects in first semester, just plan carefully.

They hate people who try to cop out and do a bludge subject instead of something you're supposed to be learning. Not what uni's about and all.

So the answer will most likely be no.

No doubt. But Calc 1 definitely wouldn't be a bludge subject for me. I suck at maths (got lucky in the spesh exam).

But if you're not here for the exam, and can't sit the supplementary exam, then all that hard work will be wasted, along with ~$500 for the subject if you're in a CSP.

Yeah, I won't go overseas. Sux bigtime. Guess I'll have to get used to missing out on stuff while doing biomed..

I don't think you can really complain about not being able to go overseas during the exam period...
From memory, bio was first week along with calculus and then chem was 3rd week

It does depend on what you got, if it was close to the cutoff then there might be some leeway and you should email Deb King. That said, if you got 35+ then don't bother because there's no way they'll let you.

Apparently the uni decided to put the sanctions back on so students who went to AAD2/ISB to get the sanctions removed, got them again  :o You need to go to the Student Centre to get it removed again and I suggest getting there at 9am (or as soon as it opens on Monday)

They're not open on weekends (at least the EPSC isn't) and welcome to uni bureaucracy, where going in person gives you less headaches*.

*Usually it does, depending on the nature of the problem.  But sometimes, it just gives you even more headaches.
