First year subjects don't usually have screen capture (only audio) and it's hard to follow a lecture when you can't see where the lecturer is pointing and his hand gestures. So it doesn't make any sense to try find the lecture recordings

And some lecturers exploit this but deliberately saying, "Now if you look at this... *points*" so if you haven't rocked up to the lecture, then depending on the slide, you'll have a little difficulty following on.
