How Did U All Go??
« on: June 11, 2008, 02:51:53 pm »

I start work soon, so I'll make this now for you all to find when you get home :)

Sheer relief it's over...?

Was it hard?

Was there a whole balance sheet on the exam this year?

Did anyone panic? >.>

Would anyone like to use this emoticon? => :tickedoff:

it was pretty long.. i just finished with like 1 min to spare. (but i was being careful so it took me ages to finish)
in terms of difficulty it wasn't overly hard.

I must say it was ALOT harder than 2007, though thats not much of a statement (damn you 2007'ers!  :P)
I finished in about ~1hour, but I spent a lot of time checking through the paper and making sure my answers were all correct. I got kind of confused with the capital contribution of the vehicle and registration, and a very confused on the wages paying in last question.

But overall, I think I did well and am so glad it's over!

EDIT: Did anyone else run out of space when totalling the final Cash Payments Journal?

CRAP- i forgot to total it!! bahh this sucks

and why did stupid Dale just have to contribute a bloody vehicle and insurance? WHY DALE WHY?

and yes i would love to use this emoticon  :tickedoff:

i think the most frustrating thing is that i finished with 20 minutes, but i still made all these idiotic blunders. this seems to be reaccuring thing that's been happening to me throughout my accounting career.

but on a good note, i thought the theory was really easy and basic, it was nothing compared to last years questions.
i think i did well on them, but all the tricky practical stuff in question 2 really stuffed me up.

HEY GUYS,

Well firsty, that was WAY harder than the 2007 exam. And I mean WAY harder.
In saying that, I don't think I did that bad but I made quite a few errors I reckon.

The first question threw me (CMON!!! LIKE ENTITY CAN RELATE TO ANY ITEM IF YOU EXPLAIN IT WELL!!!)
I put Cash at bank and continued with an answer that this item must be kept separate fro the owners bank account . (i gave the defintion too)
but Im 99% sure that was wrong which is kinda dissapointing cause i dont think ill get any marks outta 2 for it =(

the reporting period one i put the loan which was divided into current and non-current.

umm the last page was pretty tricky but I think I MAY have got marks for it. for the general journal was it DR wage expense 6000 CR accrued wages 6000?

holy crap for the 3 chqs we had to pay on the last page... did u have to put wages/accrued wages on one line for each of the 3 transactions and then separate 5000 wages and 5000 sundies?

and i totalled it 30000 bank, 15000 wages, 15000 sundries?

Ill think of more stuff later

My opinion here but I think the A+ range will drop to around 79/90

You can purchase a statement for this exam. But you won't get it until after August 4 unfortunately! It takes about a week after the results are released.

Here's the link:

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/schooladmin/forms/vce/statemarksinspectscripts.pdf

They send the statements out in the same order in which they receive the application forms. So the sooner you get the form in, the sooner they will send out your statement.
