business law pracs?

So I did my timetable on monday and registered my lecture for business law but now the timetable has come up with three additional one hour pracs which weren't originally there. It also says that there are no classes available. What's going on?

Two possibilities:

1. It is screwing up like psych did in semester 2 and constantly told everyone that they had an extra tute when they didn't.  It happened for the entire semester.
2.  There really are 3 classes "not available".

But looking at PBL, I'd go with option 1.  Have you received any word from the subject coordinator through email?

EDIT:  Actually, the classes probably haven't been entered into the system yet so that's why there are no classes available.

So glad I'm doing business law in second semester :P I noticed the same thing though with my second semester timetable thing. I just wanted to check it out to see how many contact hours I would have and saw the extra pracs, I was like WTFFFF..... Guessing it's a glitch? Hopefully, otherwise I'm switching breadth haha

Yeah, I'm going to email the coordinator. If it's true I'm definitely switching breadth too.

If you're planning on majoring in accounting, you have to do principles of business law right??

Is this 'Principles of Business Law' you're referring to?
There is only 1 x two hour lecture for that subject. However, those 'extra' classes you see popping up are probably your computer skills test time slots.
You have three skills tests throughout the semester and when I completed the subject (Semester 2, 2009) you were required to enrol in a test time as well as your lecture.
They probably just haven't fully sorted out the test times yet.

Yep, theres no tute but a computer test which you have to do in your own time each week.

Have a look at PBL in the handbook, it tells you. LOL

Yeah I know what the handbook says but it says under the study requirements in the timetable "One 120-Minutes Lecture 1, Two 60-Minutes Practical 3, Two 60-Minutes Practical 1, Two 60-Minutes Practical 2." It doesn't really make it clear as to what they really are (note that there are now 6 practicals rather than the 3 that were up yesterday). Thanks for clearing it up for me.

Yes, as a compulsory breadth.

Unless the subject's changed, it isn't a test that you have to do every week, but a unchecked computer-based tute that you can do from home. The multiple choice skills tasks are worth 15% each and are in weeks 4, 7 and 10 if I recall correctly, and you enrol yourself closer to each test date in a venue/time of your choice.

Yeah, week 4,7 and 10. I don't know why it is showing that there are 6 pracs now though. I guess it is most likely a glitch. Hopefully I get a response to my email soon.

Edit: Subject Coordinator emailed all students about the issue:

'Firstly, some of you have emailed me to ask why the University Timetable currently shows that you will need to enroll in six 'practicals'.   I regret that the timetable is wrong.  It should be telling you that you need to choose a session for three 'practicals', these being the Skills-Tasks that you do on the Friday in weeks 4, 7 and 10 of the teaching semester.  The timetable will be fixed shortly, and you
will be able to choose one of the available times.'

I don't think so. Timetable is saying we need to do this class every week, not weeks 4,7 and 10.
